Brent and the boys from Shinedown recently stopped by the Warner Sound online program The Live Room to perform the track "I'll Follow You."  It's one of my favorite songs on the new CD because it's SOOO different from what you're used to from Shinedown.  Check out the video below

 During a recent co-headlining tour with Three Days Grace, Shinedown guitaris,t Zach Myers, regularly joined opening act P.O.D.onstage to play their cover of U2's 'Bullet the Blue Sky." Here's a video of THAT too!

According to Billboard - Paramore played an 11-song set on Wednesday night  at the South By Southwestmusic festival in Austin, Texas, debuting both the current single "Now" live as well as a second new track called "Still Into You." A lyric video for the latter was released to YouTube after the performance, with the band scheduled to film an official music video in Austin. Both songs are taken from Paramore's self-titled fourth album, due out April 9th.

Sir David Eric Grohl is this years keynote speaker in Austin's South by Southwest music festival (SXSW.)  I've personally never been, but it is way up high on the ol' DZL Bucket List!  

Dave Grohl is arguably the most respected well know rock'n'roll artist of this generation.  He's played in 2 of the most influencial rock bands of the modern era.  To say nothing of his budding directing career and talk show hosting duties.  Needless to say when this guy talks... you should listen.  Click here to watch Dave's full keynote speech from SXSW!  Enjoy

I have a whole new respect for my parents.  

Feb 27th my wife gave birth to our first child "Maddox."  He came 3 weeks early, but mom and baby are in great shape and home doing well.  I don't want to say "resting" comfortably because anyone who has had kids knows that the first few months are anything BUT "rest."

I have had a little time off to be at home with the little guy and am now back at work with a whole new outlook on life!

A lot of you have asked for a pic of my little guy, so here he is.  The newest member of our little rock'n'roll family!  Maddox Charles Thompson.

How many times have you heard some idiot say (read in your best red-neck accent) "I drive better stoned than I do drunk!?"  

This study actually proves that moron's statement to be correct... kind of.  It looks like just the right amount of weed can actually IMPROVE your driving skills... I think.

Smashing Pumpkins front-man Billy Corgan once said the only reason Soundgarden was getting back together was for the money.

By the way, did you know Billy runs an independent wrestling company? It is called Resistance Pro Wrestling and was founded in 2011.  He's also a fan of nice chairs, apparently.  In a commercial for Walter E. Smithe Furniture, Corgan recruited some of the wrestlers to help him out

Wait, who's in it for the money again??  WTF?

 In case you missed it, Jimmy Kimmel challenged all of his guy viewers to give a terrible Valentine's Day present, and record the reaction it got.
